Christine Emerson Reed Park

Tennis courts in Christine Emerson Reed Park
Set in Santa Monica, CA, Christine Emerson Reed Park is the kind of park stop that works for players who want a useful place to rally, drill, or meet for doubles. The court setup - a flexible tennis setup - gives the location enough structure for rallies, match play, serve work, and drills without guessing what is on site. Because the listed surface is unclear, it is smart to scout bounce, traction, nets, and wind before starting a serious match. The free-court detail is a real plus for players building a regular tennis routine without adding another weekly expense. Published hours are not included, so verify access before heading over, especially if you are meeting a tennis coach or several partners. No lights are marked in the listing, so daytime play is the safer assumption. As a free tennis court listing, it is still smart to check posted rules, rotate courteously when others are waiting, and respect any lesson or league blocks. Players could use it for tennis lessons for beginners, tennis lessons, rally games, live-ball drills, or a friendly set after work when facility rules allow.

Quality tennis courts located in Santa Monica not far from the beach. Lighting for evening play. Must be a Santa Monica resident to book the courts - availability is notoriously hard to come by for desirable slots.

I grew up playing USTA tournaments from the age of 9. I am half french so in the summers, I would play at Mouratoglou academy in the south of France. I won the singles state championship as a sophomore in high school. Played tennis at Temple University. I then played and coached in France before moving to LA where I also work at the Tennis Channel.

Near 1133 7th St, Christine Emerson Reed Park gives players a court option that feels tied to local routines rather than dropped onto a map. Santa Monica tennis naturally pairs with beach paths, cafes, ocean air, and a fitness-minded Westside routine. Public park tennis has a friendly rhythm when everyone shares time and keeps loose balls under control. Morning and late-afternoon sessions often feel more social because players are not rushing through the hottest or busiest part of the day.
